Basic technical support for products

This support variant is included in the standard subscription to all products offered here

The purpose of this technical support is to provide basic support for the products offered, whether in the form of functional consultations or corrections of reported errors.

The products here are primarily developed for the official version of Joomla! and VirtueMart and therefore can not be expected to resolve issues encountered while running these products on a web presentation where the source code has been inappropriately modified or the proper functionality of the site has been greatly impaired by inappropriate management, poorly updated updates, or by installing unverified or problematic third-party products.

Includes especially:

  • advice on installation, configuration, and functionality of our product
  • checking and correcting the reported errors (the error must occur in a standard - clean - installaton of Joomla! or VirtueMart in a product-compatible version)
  • consultations on the possible extension of the functionality of the product (the decision on the possible implementation of the new function is purely at the discretion of the developer - especially the objective benefit for most customers will be taken into account)

Excludes especially:

  • advices or customizing of product design according to template used by the customer
  • troubleshooting product functionality in the event of poor server or site configuration (Joomla! or VirtueMart)
  • troubleshooting in the event of a conflict with another third party product if it's not listed as compatible
  • troubleshooting in case of running products on outdated (or modified) versions of Joomla! or VirtueMart if they are not listed as compatible

What can be (or will be) addressed in matter of the basic technical support is in case of doubt always on my decision. If you encounter a problem which you will not be able to solve it yourself, so feel free to create a ticket in technical support. In the case of small things, I will glad to help you beyond this kind of support, if possible. If the issue requires more attention, I will submit a non-binding offer to purchase advanced technical support, see below.

I try to respond as soon as possible to the requests, but please patience in case of delay. I deal with basic technical support to products in particular (but not exclusively) on working days (in the Czech Republic) between 9-17h CET / UTC+1 (eventually CEST / UTC+2).

Advanced technical support

In the case of a requirement beyond basic technical support, I offer so-called advanced technical support to purchase. This type of technical support includes more or less everything else that does not belong to basic technical support above, or other work outside of the range of products offered here.

I offer the following services within this support:

  • installing, configuring and correcting the functionality of the offered products on the site / server of the customer
  • verifying or correcting specific problems with the offered products on the site / server of the customer
  • repairing the incompatibility of the product offered here with another third-party product, or implementing a new tailor-made functionality (whether it will be a separate development branch or a new public version for all customers is at the sole discretion of the developer)
  • advice and consultation for customer's site (installation, configuration, content management, recommendations and advice of a different nature)
  • verifying or correcting issues in third-party products used on the customer's site
  • tuning of design on the customer's site (adjust output from any extensions, modification of templates or layouts, CSS tuning, responsive design, ...)
  • analyze of any kind (tailor-made product development, redesign or extensive web site updates, etc.)
  • custom development for Joomla! and VirtueMart (templates, layouts, extensions, ...)
  • custom development outside of Joomla! and VirtueMart

Price of services

Within this support, I offer my professional services at an hourly rate 1000 CZK - 1500 CZK or in the corresponding amount in EUR according to the current exchange rate (+ VAT rate applicable in the country of the beneficiary of the service) depending on the nature and amount of work.

I offer lower rates in the case of work requirements for the products offered here, beyond the basic technical support or simpler requirements regards on Joomla! or VirtueMart (tuning of design or layouts, solving of minor problems, etc.) as well as in a case of a larger volume of work.

How much time will be needed to resolve the request?

The vast majority of requirements are tailored to the customer or web presentation and therefore it is usually not realistic to estimate anything in advance without an exact assignment. Often, a minor problem in design is a much deeper problem and sometimes at first glance the "radical" template modification takes 5 clicks in the administration and 15 minutes of the programmer's time.
